Featured Project - Mark Hopkins In 2007, murals in San Francisco's Mark Hopkins Hotel, painted in 1926 by Maynard Dixon
and Frank Van Sloun, were damaged by a plumbing failure. ARG/CS was retained to inspect and plan the drying, mold remediation, cleaning and restoration of the historic murals.
ARG/CS was then contracted to treat the areas of the mural affected by flooding. The main objective of the
treatment was to remove dirt and grime from affected parts of
the mural, consolidate and reattach parts of the mural that were
delaminating from the wall and visually integrate drip marks
and other faded areas. ARG Conservation Services provided
